LeBron Raymone James Sr. is an American professional basketball player that plays with the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Nicknamed King James he is widely considered one of the greatest basketball players ever and is often compared to Michael Jordan in debates over the greatest basketball player ever. James has four NBA champions. There are four NBA MVPs. Four NBA Finals MVPs. Three All-Star MVPs. Two Olympic gold medals. James is the NBA All-Star with most points in playoffs, with the second most points in his career total, and the seventh highest career assist total. Additionally, as an NBA All-Star, James was picked as a member of the NBA All-NBA Team on 18 occasions. He was the 3rd player to participate in NBA Finals. Eight of these were consecutive between the year 2011 until the year 2018. James was selected to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team for 2021. He became the NBA's first player to score 10,000 points, rebound and assist in 2022. James played basketball for St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in his hometown of Akron Ohio and was heavily in the news media as a future NBA star. He was a top pick for the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the first pick of the NBA draft in 2003. In 2004, he was named NBA Rookie. Then, he quickly established himself as one of the top league players and was awarded the NBA MVP in both the years 2009 and the year 2010. James, who was unable to take home the title in Cleveland in 2010, was released as a free agent and signed with his team the Miami Heat. This was revealed by the book The Decision. It is one of the most controversial choices made by a free agent in sports the history of sports.
