Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada but grew up in the United States. She has worked as media critic since. Feminist Frequency hosts videos, commentary and analyses of portrayals in popular cultures. The ambitious lady planned to launch a web series that would examine the gender roles in video games and was the subject of an online harassment campaign. The attack did be a deterrent, but it only strengthened her resolve as a feminist media critic. Her numerous contributions to the field of feminist are recognized with numerous prizes. Anita Sarkeesian is an award nominated media critic as well as the founder of Feminist Frequency an educational non-profit focused on the portrayal of women in popular media narratives.
